I used this product in my Laptop to connect a USB, 2TB 3.5" SSHD, Firecuda Drive, permanently, to it for general storage, so that the connection is tucked right next to & flush with the side of the Laptop so that the USB Plug & USB cable do not interfere or get hit by other objects causing damage on the USB Port, itself. Really a good product and idea, and a design which I've been, specifically, looking for and it works :)
