The gender changer was used for a rather unique application. I replaced the wireless mouse on my desktop PC. The PC is located in the lower part of a desk cabinet close to the mouse. The new mouse (actually designed for a laptop) had a receiver that plugs into a USB port on the PC. The new mouse operation was erratic due to the receiver and mouse not being in close proximity to each other. My solution was to plug a USB cable into a rear USB port of my desktop PC with the other end laying on the top of my desk close to the (new) mouse. I used the female to female gender changer to allow the new USB receiver to be plugged into the male end of my USB cable.Worked like a charm.
